Rosemary Sutcliff’s ‘De roemruchte daden van Robin Hood’ (The Chronicles of Robin Hood) – a retelling of the story of Robin Hood – was awarded a Zilveren Griffel book award in 1971 in Holland. This is a Childrens/Young Adult book award. Anita Meulstee from the Netherlands, on Library Thing, alerted me to this and she tells me that she reads Rosemary’s books translated into Dutch – not all the books are available in translation. Dutch titles include: De adelaar van het negende (The Eagle of the Ninth), De zilveren tak (The Silver Branch), De lantarendragers (The Lantern Bearers), Ochtendwind (Dawn Wind), Een koning voor de Dalriaden (The Mark of the Horse Lord) and Om het roodd van de krijger (Warrior Scarlet).
